How Should You Keep Yourself Safe When Working on A Construction Site?

Safety precautions are vital when working on a construction site and include:

Wearing competent helmets and protective gear. Wear helmets correctly, ensuring that there is proper clearance between the shell and liner, and fastening the hat band. Use qualified labour protective equipment such as safety belts, insulated shoes and gloves.

Comply with operating procedures. Before entering the construction site, you must receive safety education about the working environment and potential safety hazards. It is strictly prohibited to work under the influence of alcohol, wear slippers or bare shoulders, climb unstable objects, and wear hard-soled shoes when working at height.

Pay attention to electrical safety. When using electrical equipment, ensure that there is a person in charge, take leakage protection measures, use insulated tools, and regularly check the insulation status of electrical equipment.

Observe the regulations for working at height. When working at heights, safety belts must be fastened, and the safety belts should be hung securely before working. Avoid working in unstable environments, such as trolleys.

Pay attention to scaffolding and formwork safety. Ensure that scaffolding is erected in accordance with specifications and check the foundation, step spacing and spacing of uprights. When using formwork and scaffolding, pay attention to stability and avoid falling objects.

Comply with fire safety regulations. Smoking is strictly prohibited in flammable and explosive areas, and open-flame work should be carried out separately from flammable and explosive work. Ensure that there is sufficient fire-fighting equipment on site, such as fire extinguishers and fire hydrants.

Observe lifting and hoisting safety regulations. Prohibit climbing on equipment such as gantries, external lifts and tower cranes. Pay attention to platform protection and edge protection during lifting operations.

Observe the safety regulations for earthwork operations. Pay attention to the prevention of collapse accidents, especially in bad weather such as fog, heavy rain or gale of more than six winds.

Observe other safety regulations. For example, prohibit the use of blowtorches, welding machines, and other equipment that may cause fires on the construction site, and do not allow personnel to work without qualified safety training.
